Vampire Game

My focus for this prototype was on creating an interesting combat system that makes you feel like a vampire and allows for different approaches.

There are two stages that repeat every room: sneaking and fighting. While sneaking, you need to stay out of enemy vision so you can scout the room and think of how you'll approach fighting, which enemies to take out first, etc. To encourage the player to think before engaging, you can inst-kill an enemy if you hit them from behind. After that, the remaining enemies will turn towards the noise they heard (the player). If the player manages to stay out of vision, this process can be repeated until all enemies are dead.

After being seen by an enemy, all enemies will be alerted and fighting begins. The player has two different attacks, a melee claw attack that does a lot of damage, and a ranged bat throwing attack that builds up a stun meter. When the stun meter is full the enemy gets stunned.

This gives the player multiple options on how to fight, take your time and stun each enemy before killing them, or going in without stunning and risk losing health.
